~♥ Flower Love ♥~

Hello to you on this lovely sunny afternoon in Southwestern PA...we were blessed with such a wonderful day...it literally puts sunshine in my soul!

I have finally gotten around to purchasing some flowers for my porch.

The barrel was a yard sale find.
"Calabrachoa - Hot Pink"

I got this toolbox out of our garage...hubby wasn't using it.
"Gerbera Daisy, Orange Mint, Ivy"

I love milk glass...thrift store find.
"Angelart - Pineapple"
More "Angelart - Pineapple" in milk glass.
Silver bowl from my friend, Josie.

I bought geraniums for my deck...still need to spruce up the deck a little.

I have decided to get ferns to hang on my porch this year. My dear hubby found some big beautiful ones at one of our favorite garden store so hopefully I'll get them this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

~♥ Yard Sales & Crafting ♥~

Hello on this lovely Monday afternoon.  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I had the opportunity to do a little yard saling with my friend, Lisa, on Saturday before we headed to a baby shower.  I found this porcelain figurine for $1.00!  I thought it was sweet...I love baby animals.
I also found this Pennsylvania Dutch plate for .50 cents...some of the sayings on it are a hoot!
Here's some of them:

"Papa's at the table and half et already."
"Eat the plate clean and tomorrow will be a good day."
"We grow too soon olde und too late schmart."
"Katie wants marryin' she's 16 already."
"She's chust so wonderful nice."
"You get me all ferhuddled."
"Outen the light."

On Sunday, I met with a few friends for brunch at the local I-Hop...it was so yummy!
I decided to make the girls a little Mother's Day gift from an idea I saw on Pinterest...I love that site.

This is what mine looked like:
I gave each friend a notepad, pen and a packet of "Forget Me Not" seeds.  They can use the tag as a bookmarker as well.
I scanned the picture of four children all dressed in white from a photograph that belonged to my Husband's Grandmother.  My Mother-In-Law inherited a whole box of pictures but she was going to get rid of them because she had no idea who they were...I told her I would gladly take them off of her hands.

Please feel free to use the picture for your crafting purposes.

~♥ Yard Saling ♥~

Good morning blogging friends...I thought I'd share with you what I found this past Saturday when my closest friends and I went to some sales...we really had a lot of fun searching for treasures!  I wish I would have taken pictures of what my friends found as well...you can be sure I will the next time we are out and about.
  1. My dear friend Josie gave me the greenware items before we even left on our shopping trip...she is one of the most loving and giving people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
  2. The plates and dishes were found at a church sale for $3.00 for a set of 8.  We looked at an antique shop which had something similiar and was very high priced for a set of 4.  I'll use these at my annual Christmas cookie exchange.
  3. A little glass jar for .25 cents.
  4. An oil lamp for .50 cents.
  5. Kitchen utensils given to me by Josie.
  6. VHS tape of Little Women for .25 cents...it was never opened!
My friend Lisa found these great wooden folding chairs...she got them for $3.00 for a set of 2.  My friend Sue got the cutest little school desks...I wish I could remember the price, but I'm almost certain she didn't pay more than $6.00 for both of them (please correct me if I'm wrong, Sue).  Josie found an old wire basket that she is putting on her fence.

After we were done shopping we went for lunch at a local eatery called, "Carol and Dave's Roadhouse".  If you're ever in the Ligonier, PA, area you defnitely need to stop there for some great food!

I'm first in the fuscia jacket, next to me is Sue, then Lisa and then Josie...I really do love these ladies and am so blessed to have them in my life!

xoxo Kim

~♥ Happy Saturday ♥~

~♥ Yard Sale Goodies ♥~

Hello sweet blogging friends...long time no post!  I am still here, just haven't had anything to post about or so I thought.  I realized that I hadn't shared what I found yard saling back in June and here it is the end of August!  My oh my how time flies...
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I love this basket...I bought it for $5.00
This wreath was $3.00
These sweet little lambs (made from bone china not resin) were $2.00
and last but not least, a juicer for $1.00
Thank you so much for stopping by...I'm hoping to post more regularly in September.  My dear daughter starts her senior year of high school on August 30th...I can't believe it.  It seems like yesterday she was starting kindergarten!

~♥I've Had You In Suspense Long Enough♥~

Here's what Santa brought me...a new farmhouse cupboard and...

a new farmhouse table.

This is our 20th anniversary gift, too.  My dear Hubby and I will be celebrating our anniversary on the 13th of January.  When we were first married we bought a table and chairs so we thought it would would be nice to do this for our Christmas/20th Anniversary gift.  We gave our old table and hutch to a young couple who recently got engaged...they just bought a house, too, and needed everything.  They were so grateful and we were happy to help them out.

I thought I'd show you a few other things in the kitchen, too.

Here's my chalkboard that I love to decorate!  The Chalkink Markers are so fun to use!

I love sprinkles and things to decorate cookies and cupcakes...here's my supply in the drawers of my new cupboard.

I moved this dresser (removed the mirror) to the kitchen to provide more storage (one can never have enough storage!).  The rocking chair belongs to my dear daughter.  It was given to her by her grandparents when she was a year old...she's now 16 1/2.

The top of the dresser: The scale was a garage sale find ($15), the canisters look old, but they are actually new, the castiron cook stove was given to me by my dear Gram.

Thank for visiting me today...I really do appreciate all of your sweet comments and visits!

~*Chalkboard Love*~

My chalkboard (the frame was a yardsale find...50 cents) is one of my favorite things in my kitchen!

And, the Chalk Ink markers recommended by Aunt Ruthie of Sugarpie Farmhouse are my favorite things to use on it...no more regular chalk for me!

~*Kitchen Tour, Part 2*~

Welcome
to the second part of my kitchen tour. I hope you all will bear with me...this post has a lot of pictures.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The stairs leading to the upstairs...I love the little bannister. The apron belonged to my dear Mom...I have a picture of it on my other blog if you want to see what it looks like up close.
This little toy cookstove was given to me by my dear Gram...she had a real working stove just like this in her kitchen. Just thinking about it makes me feel all warm and cozy...I remember in the winter sitting by it to get warm after I was outside playing in the snow!
A courting candle given to me by my dear friend Josie.
I got this scale at a yard sale several years ago.
I am a Gooseberry Patch Cookbook collector...they are my weakness (that and Vera Bradley purses...lol). The small pitcher belonged to my Gram.
The plate rack (I have two of them) came from Goodwill...I paid $1.00 a piece for them. They were cream and I painted them black, of course! The plates are from Marshall's.
A wreath with pipberries (another of my favorite things).
An old tea kettle found in the attic of my parents home.
I found the old grater at a yard sale...when I came home with it, my dh just looked at me a shook his head...lol! He just doesn't understand about the things I love...I'm glad all of you dear blogging friends do.
This old pie pan belonged to my Gram...she baked many pies in it. I have so many wonderful memories of the time I spent with her. The pictures are framed recipes cards hand written by my Gram and Mom.
I know this pie pan isn't very "pretty", but it is very special to me.
This pitcher and butter dish are thrift store/church sale finds.
Cookie cutters that belonged to my Gram.
My window sill.
A corner of my counter.
A small basket of pipberries and a punched tin night light (I have a black one in our bathroom).
Framed keys that belonged to my dear Dad.
More cookbooks...I love the name Fannie Farmer.
The rest of my Gooseberry Patch collection.
An old Rumsford Complete Cookbook dated 1931. It belonged to my Mom.

A star lamp.
My spice cupboard from Wal-mart filled with Watkins spice tins.
My collection of church sale aprons...I don't wear any of these, but I do like to look at them.
My chalkboard...the picture frame cost me .50 cents at a yard sale. We bought a regular chalkboard at one of the office stores and attached it to the frame.

My old kitchen had a lot of cows in it...I downsized and kept a few of them. The enamel ware pitcher belonged to my Gram.
Enamel ware mug from my parents.
Another of my Gram's pie pans...I attached a star to it since I love stars! The cow was given to me by my Mom. The sheep I found at a thrift store.
An old jar full of rag balls...Ok, looking at this jar I'd have to say half full...lol!
Another of my Gram's pie pans.
Two old bean pots and a pitcher that belonged to my Gram.
An old crock from my Gram with pipberries.
Found these two stitceries at a yard sale...I mean they looked terrible...they were all dusty and dirty and the frames were awful, but I bought them anyways. I washed them up and painted the frames...now they're just like new/old!
If you've made it through all of my pictures I thank you for taking the time to look at them!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
There will be a part 3 of the tour...we'll take a look at my signs so stayed tuned and have a wonderful weekend, my dear blogging friends!
Love, Kim
