Sunday was a very exciting day for us. Not only was it the celebration of Christ The King but our Kynan arrived back home form University for the year in the morning in time to come to Mass with us.
Earlier in the week we had started to colour in some of the colouring pages that we had from the plans we had, trying to get a head start on the day itself.
On the day we made some gold cardboard crowns and glued on some sequins for a quick crown craft. I know we planned to make some felt ones but I will be making more of these for the last two birthdays of the year this week anyway, so I just wanted to do something different.
The participating crowns before while drying and before assembly.
Of course one of the most anticipated crafts is the decorating of the cake. These are the very happy 'crafters' who did theeating decorating with some lollies on the creamy icing in a bundt (crown shape) cake
Some of the colouring in pages I could find, um somewhere Ilost, misplaced the others in my tidying up of my desk.
So as we enter this last week before the start of Advent I anticipate us preparing for a very busy and exciting time over the next few weeks.
This is one of the most joyous family/Liturgical times of the year and one we celebrate with great enthusiasm.
I hope you also enjoyed your own celebrations in remembrance of our Saviour and King!
Blessings to you and your homes,

The Feast of Christ the King ~
"that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father"
Philippians 2: 10-11
Ideas to Celebrate~
On a home made drawn crown , write all of the reasons that Jesus Christ is our King and Savior.
Another idea is to make a special "Christ the King" banner out of paper, or a more permanent idea out of fabric and fabric paint to proclaim The Kingship of Jesus.
Definitely make some felt crowns following this simple tutorial. Honestly you can never have too many crowns in a home in my opinion, they can be used for anything but for today in memory of Christ The King.
This detailed colouring page was made for us by Eden based on the original image above. We will definitely be colouring this one in, I hope you would like to use it too
Great colouring page
Colouring stained glass window look page
We have made this before but from Jen - a Foldable Table or Altar Decoration
Family Procession idea from Catholic Culture
Make a King Cake ~ I know there are many super duper version of this however we simply make a bundt cake and ice it. The kids then decorate it with lollies as jewels.
Lots of fun, easy to make and yummy to eat!

Here are our ideas and activities from past years
PRAYER~
O Jesus Christ, I acknowledge you as universal King. All that has been made has been created for You. Exercise all Your rights over me. I renew my Baptismal Vows. I renounce Satan, his pomps and his works; I promise to live as a good Christian. And, in particular do I pledge myself to labor, to the best of my ability, for the triumph of the rights of God and of Your Church. Divine Heart of Jesus, to You do I offer my poor services, laboring that all hearts may acknowledge Your sacred kingship, and that thus the reign of Your peace be established throughout the whole universe. Amen.
May you have a blessed and memorable feast day,

All last week I wanted to start to have a look at what we might do for Advent this year and organise my Advent and Christmas posts into some sort of order.
I see that others are starting to do this as well and as we really only have less than two weeks left to get organised and two birthdays within this time period, I really need to sort out our family plans worked out and any new activities planned prior to the start of Advent.
I have spent somelot time on Pinterest browsing and adding items to my board but sadly I am having trouble with this and it is not showing up. Anyone else experiencing this? I was told by a friend that they use Evennotes as well but not sure how this compares with Pinterest. I like the visual side of Pinterest.
So one thing to be aware of is that this coming Sunday is Christ The King (non traditional) I have said before this is probably the only Feast Day that we do not celebrate on the Traditional Feast Day but on the new calender.
What are our plans for this year? Um at this stage I am not sure, but her are a few ideas from the last couple of years for you -Posts from the past
I am looking forward to getting my plans in order and sharing soon too, until then enjoy your own preparations.
Blessings to you and your homes,
